Thinking ahead I am going to provide you with information
regarding our 2nd annual talent show. We will conduct talent show
auditions for any students interested on February 24th and 25th
from 3:00 to 4:30 pm. Students will need to sign up for slots. For students
selected rehearsal will be March 17th from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. The
parent show will be the evening of March 20th at 7:00 pm. All
parents/community members are welcome. We will have additional information
available on our website and in the announcements as we get closer to the
audition dates.
We will be showing the movie Wreck It Ralph tomorrow
during homeroom/after school as our second quarter reward for all students who
have received six code cards. We will also have popcorn and licorice for the
students. We will have a late bus on Friday for any students who may not have a
ride. Make sure your student turns in their code cards.
We will also have a support your playoff team day
tomorrow, students may wear a hat for any one of the four remaining NFL playoff
teams….Denver, Seattle, San Francisco or New England.
Yesterday afternoon we had an all school assembly. The
assembly was presented by the American Bar Association Division of Young
Lawyers. The topic was Bully Proofing your school. It was a very well done
presentation and the students were very engaged. You may want to ask your child
their thoughts on the topic and discuss with them what they took away from the
presentation.
We are also currently working on scheduling Mike Harris
from the Jeffco Police Department to come in and present to our students
regarding cyber safety. We will try to arrange this presentation for April/May
time frame.
Have a great weekend.
Respectfully,
James O’Tremba
Principal, Newton Middle School
