Hello Parents/Guardians:
Reminder: NO
SCHOOL on MONDAY, APRIL 21st. This is a comp day for teachers for
conferences in March.
It has come to our attention that many of our students
are using their parents’ login on the parent portal to look for assignments,
grades, etc. Please, do not let your
students use your sign on! All
students have their own usernames and passwords and should be using them for
Campus access.
If students are not using their accounts, they will be
unable to register for next year’s classes here at Newton and when they head to
high school, they will not be able to register online for high school
classes. If your child has forgotten
their Infinite Campus password, have them see Mrs. Mills in the Main
Office. Thank you for your cooperation
regarding this matter.
I am attaching two pieces of information for you from the
district. The first is a notification of price increases for lunches and the
second is information regarding a Cyber-Safety workshop that will be held at
the Ames Facility on April 28th. You will need to register for the workshop.
The end of year field trip permission forms have been
given to students and need to be returned by April 25th. These need
to be returned whether or not your student is attending the field trip on the
last day of school.
As we look forward to the eighth grade continuation
please keep the following dress code guidelines in mind: For Boys:
Please wear business casual attire, dress pants, dress shirts and dress
shoes, no t-shirts, jeans or pants that sag. For Girls: Please wear business
casual attire including, dresses, skirts, dress pants and shoes that you can
walk gracefully in. No spaghetti strap or halter tops, if these are worn a
shawl or some type of cover up needs to be worn over the top of them.
Please remember we are coming together as a community to
recognize the accomplishments of the students and need to follow the Newton
dress code. Students will be walking across the stage, up and down stairs,
receiving their continuation certificate and being recognized in front of
hundreds of people. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
Have a great weekend.
Respectfully,
James O’Tremba
Principal, Newton Middle School
