Good Afternoon Parents and Guardians:

Thanks to all of our parents who attended conferences this week. We appreciate your time and commitment to Newton. If you were not able to attend conferences or need more time with a teacher or group of teachers please feel free to contact any teacher at any time. E-mail is generally the best manner in which to contact us.

NMS Annual Fund Drive
Newton’s Annual Fund Drive ends in two short weeks, on October 31st!!   To date, we have collected $25,960.   We are hoping to collect a total of $30,000.  Will you help us reach our goal?

The Fund Drive Homeroom Contest is in full swing.  The class with the highest percentage of participation in each grade wins an ice cream party.  Just one new donation can change the percentage of participation, and therefore change which class is in the lead. Here are the current classroom standings:
  • 6th grade:  Mr. Wilmes, Mrs. Osthoff, and Mrs. Mack
  • 7th grade:  Mrs. Sutton, Mrs. Timinski, Mrs. Rodrigue, and Mrs. DeSantis
  • 8th grade:  Mrs. Bryan, Mr. Goodreau, and Mrs. Andrews
Every classroom can get in the game with just a few additional donations.  Help your child win that ice cream party!!

Click here to make a donation via Paypal today.  You can also bring your check or cash to the main office at Newton.  The suggested donation amount is $125 per student.  Detailed information about the Annual Fund Drive, including the Paypal link, is available on the Newton website under NMS PTO Fund Drive.  Thank you for supporting the Newton PTO.

Newton KNight Out
The next Newton Community KNight is next week!  Please join us on Tuesday, October 24 at The Garlic Knot at Arapahoe & Holly anytime from 4pm-close.  Mention Newton and 25% of your bill for dine in or take out will be donated back to our school in support of our Annual Fund Drive.  Please spread the word and see you there!

Arapahoe HS Freshman Showcase
Attached is the flyer for Arapahoe High Schools Freshmen Showcase event on Monday, December 4th. Arapahoe’s Shadow Days have filled and we have an extensive waitlist so many of your students will not have the chance to participate. Their Freshmen Showcase is a wonderful opportunity for both parents and students to see the  school and hear about their programs.

NMS Yearbook Baby Ads Due Soon
Newton Middle School 8th grade yearbook baby ads are due by Dec 1st.  There is information on Mrs. J. Andrews website.

I hope the students are enjoying their four day weekend. We will resume school on Monday and begin our second quarter!
