Nutrition Services
I wanted to pass along some information regarding nutrition services end of the year charging policy if you would like to include in your newsletters.

The school year is ending soon; does your student have enough money in their lunch account to last until the end of the year? Is there a negative balance that needs to be paid?
As of April 27, 2018, students will not be permitted to charge into the negative on their accounts.  Please watch lunch account balances and pay off any past due amounts. If you are unsure of your balance, ask one of the kitchen staff, call LPS Nutrition Services at 303-347-3360 or check your account at MySchoolBucks.com
It is the goal of the LPS Nutrition Services department to keep meal prices affordable to families within the district.  Due to increasing food costs, our meal prices will be changing for the 2018-2019 school year. Prices will be as follows:
Breakfast Prices*
Elementary: $1.85
Middle: $1.85
High: $2.05
Lunch Prices*
Elementary: $2.95
Middle: $3.15
High: $3.25
Adult: $4.05
Milk: $0.75
*As a reminder, all students who qualify for reduced meal benefits will receive breakfast at no charge.  Additionally, PK-5th grade students who qualify for reduced meal benefits will also receive lunch at no charge.  More information regarding Free and Reduced Meal Benefits can be found at www.lpsnutrition.com or call 303-347-3355.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you for your support!

Newton Backpack Program
Interested in volunteer or donation opportunities for the weekend backpack program at Newton Middle School? The Sign-up Genius has been updated to include dates for 2018 — please assist us with providing for our Newton community by going to: www.SignUpGenius.com/go/10C0C4BA8A82EA4F58-newton

The program provides supplementary weekend snacks/meals and supplemental weekday snacks at school. Backpacks are available for student pick-up at the end of the day (2:50) each Friday.  Volunteers are needed from 2 to 3pm each Friday afternoon to put together backpacks, place them in pick-up locations and return those not picked up to the backpack storage room. Food donations may be made anytime during the year; there is a donation box in the front office for food donations (please no glass containers). Donations of perishable snacks (i.e., cheese sticks, frozen pb&j sandwiches, frozen burritos) should be brought to the school clinic. All donations must be store-bought items. Your generosity is greatly appreciated!
