Good Afternoon Parents and Guardians:

Halloween Party
We will conduct our annual Halloween Party in conjunction with Newton’s PTO on Wednesday, October 31st………..Halloween. This is one of my favorite events of the year. We will have a DJ, dancing in the gym, food and drinks in the cafeteria, a photo booth, cake walk and other events for the students. Students are allowed to dress in costume for the party only, no costumes are allowed during the day. We will allow for time for the students to change before the party begins. The event will end at 5:00 pm and we will have late buses available for students at that time.

A reminder about costumes, they need to be school appropriate, no weapons or masks. We need to be able to identify the students if needed. If a student has a question regarding a specific costume please have them drop by and see me and I can clarify for them. This is a very fun event for the staff and students and we are looking forward to Halloween!

New Club Opportunity:
Join Nutrition Services Advisory club and voice your opinion about school lunches! Do you want to see something different on the menu? Do you want to bring the latest food trends to Newton cafeteria? Do you just want free food? Join our club and let us know what you think. We will meet one Wednesday a month, with our first meeting on November 14th from 4:00 - 4:45. FREE FOOD will be provided at each meeting!

Newton’s Annual Fund Drive
Newton’s Annual Fund Drive closes next Wednesday!!  To date, we have collected $22,817. We have less than two weeks to meet our goal of $30,000. If you have not contributed yet, please consider doing so now.

The PTO wants to offer its thanks to those who have contributed, and special thanks to the donors who have arranged for matching employer donations. If your employer offers corporate matching for charitable donations, please consider using this resource to benefit Newton. Those corporate matches could help us meet our goal!! Please direct any questions about corporate matching to newtonptopres@gmail.com.

To encourage participation in the Fund Drive, the PTO has proposed a lunchtime concert for all students. If the PTO meets its goal of collecting $30,000 by October 31st (and we reach at least a 50% participation rate by that date), the local band Nasal Moose Saliva will perform at all three student lunches. As an added bonus, Mr. O’Tremba, Mr. Wykhuyse and Mrs. Rahne will perform as backup dancers. Hopefully this is just the incentive you have been waiting for!! If you haven’t contributed yet, please consider giving today.

You can click here to make a donation via Paypal today. You can also bring your check or cash to the main office at Newton. The suggested donation amount is $125 per student, but any amount that fits your family budget is appreciated. Detailed information about the Annual Fund Drive, including the Paypal link, is available on the Newton website under NMS PTO Fund Drive. Thank you for supporting the Newton PTO!

Enjoy the weekend.
