Chess Tournament Results:

The annual LPS district chess tournament was held here at Newton on December 10th. Newton finished in first place in the 6-8th grade category with the following individual winners:

1st place: Sam Sweetman 

3rd Place: Jacob Segal 

6th Place: Finian Collins 

Congratulations to our chess team and all of the participants. We had over 215 students participate across the district.

THANK YOU to our wonderful NMS community!  

We collected $900 (!!!) for our SROs and the K9 team!  $200 was donated to the Back the Blue K9 Force (the money will be used specifically to help pay vet bills for Rex, who recently had knee surgery).  $700 was split evenly between Deputy Travis and Deputy John, with $350 worth of gift cards to Target, Amazon, Chipotle and Starbucks for each of them, along with some Christmas chocolates and - of course - treats for the dogs.  The gifts were hand delivered to Travis and John at the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office HQ on Wednesday, presented on behalf of all NMS families:  both deputies were extremely grateful.  Your incredible generosity is much appreciated - thank you!  

Climate, Safety and Wellness Inventory:

As part of our ongoing efforts to promote a safe and healthy culture at Newton Middle School, we are asking for your feedback through the district Climate, Safety and Wellness Inventory (CSWI). The survey will be open through December 22, 2022.
