LAST CODE SHOP and REQUEST FOR DONATIONS AND PARENT VOLUNTEERS:
If you can donate items for our last CODE shop and raffle of the year or volunteer please access this link for additional information.
We will host our regular CODE SHOP on May 12th for all students with CODE Cards. On May 19th students can place any additional CODE Cards into a raffle for some larger prizes to be announced.
Please see the attached invitation for 8th grade continuation. I will meet with all 8th graders on Monday regarding specific information and end of the year expectations.
Arapahoe High School sends their sincere THANK YOU to all the Newton Knights that helped donate during their Wish Week. Arapahoe surpassed their $15,000 goal for Stephan and we helped them reach their goal. Many thanks from your student council.
Attention all 8th grade football players attending Arapahoe High School next year and interested in playing football for the Warriors. There will be an informational meeting Tuesday, May 2nd at 7:00 pm at Arapahoe High School in the forum in order to get you and your parents plugged into the football program. Please enter the building through the North entrance by the baseball field.
Hey 8th graders: Arapahoe Soccer is holding optional kickarounds in the month of May for any incoming Freshman interested in playing soccer at Arapahoe next year. Please visit the Arapahoe Soccer website for additional information. Please sign up by April 29th. Contact coach Hayes if you have any questions.
Parents, please check your Infinite Campus Parent Portal account for outstanding fees. Fees can either be paid online with a credit card or in office with cash or check made out to Newton Middle School. If you have any questions please contact our bookkeeper Jessica Schultz jaschultz@lps.k12.co.us.
Important Information From Your Student Council:
May 4th-Dance-a-thon 3:30pm-4:30pm
Students will pay $3 in advance to support St. Jude. All money raised will go to St. Jude. This is a glow theme and students will show a ticket to join us from study hall.
May 9th-Skate City Newton Party (bring your families!!) 6pm-8pm
Please consider joining your students in this fun evening of skating. You are welcome to bring your own families.
May 22nd-8th grade vs staff dodgeball 3:08pm-3:50pm (maybe dismissal at 3pm)
Bringing back a tradition of a fun end-of-year event! Mr. O’Tremba has approved this as an all school assembly. We will do introductions and then get a chance to compete with 8th graders who sign up for dodgeball. It will go to the end of school at 3:50pm. We ask that teachers bring your class down and then can cheer, supervise or play.
May 22nd-May 26th- Spirit Week
Daily themes will be announced before the last week of school.

This includes information on chromebook return, yearbook distribution, eighth grade continuation and rehearsal and early release on Friday May 26th. Additional information for eighth graders will be given to them in a meeting with Mr. O’Tremba next week and sent to eighth graders in an eighth grade only parent/student message.

NJHS:
Our NJHS induction ceremony will be held on Wednesday, May 10th from 8:30 - 9:30 in the cafetorium. Congratulations to all of our new inductees.
