April 9th, 2021

Good Afternoon Parents/Guardians and Students:

Arapahoe Credit Union Annual Shred A Thon:

The Arapahoe Credit Union will once again be holding a Shred A Thon in our parking lot this Spring. It will be held on April 24th, from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm, this will be held in our East parking lot. All donations and proceeds go directly to the Newton Middle School PTO.

OPTIONS SECONDARY SCHOOL DINE IN/DINE OUT NIGHT:

Options secondary school is not fortunate enough to have a PTO, we are getting the word out and helping sponsor their first ever fundraising event and dining night to benefit their program. We have and have had several Newton students attend Options and appreciate all that Options does for all of our students in the district. Please click here for additional information on the fundraising event that will be held on Wednesday, April 14th from 4:30 to 8:30pm at Parry’s Pizza Southglenn…..thanks for your support.

CMAS INFORMATION:

I am attaching the CMAS schedule for this spring. We will begin testing on April 12th. We have built the schedule in order for opt out students to stay home the first block of the day and then we will begin the academic day as outlined in the schedule. If you opt out and cannot keep your student home we will provide a setting in the gym for students to work on classwork or read. I will be supervising this setting.

TOP’s students who are testing will need to report to Newton for their testing unless they have opted out.

If you choose to opt your student into additional testing that isn't being completed in that grade level we have provided two additional days of testing these students will be involved in. This also means if you elect to take additional testing those students will miss our regular classroom instruction and will be expected to make that work up.

I am including the opt out link if you are interested in opting your student out of the CMAS testing this year. This is something that I support for families to consider this year. If you have specific questions regarding CMAS testing please let me know.
