Good Afternoon Newton Parents and Students.  Hope you are as ready as we are for a break from the HEAT!!  Have a great and restful weekend!!

IMPORTANT REMINDER

We have recently added fees for many of your children.  This includes, but is not limited to, Track (all grades), Musical (cast and crew), Stu Co, Brain Bowl, NJHS, Band (Instruments and books), and PE charges for uniforms and locks.  Please pay these when you have a moment as it is imperative to pay for our programs here at Newton so we can continue to provide the clubs, athletics and activities that our children love. The easiest way to pay is to click into the campus parent and then click fees on the left hand side.  Thank you!!

Transition to Reading Blocks/Knight Time Classes

This week we started our traditional Reading Blocks and Knight Time.  During Reading Blocks on M, T, and Th, students are expected to read in class.  If they have homework, then they can also work on assignments.  Students are expected to read if they do not have homework.  On Friday we have Knight Time.  Students chose from the many creative options and are have a class that they can have fun and end the week doing something new!  Wednesdays are still Homeroom and we will do PBIS lessons or have an additional Reading block… also while the weather is still nice, teams that only got to play kickball one time, are getting a chance to play again.

High School Visits for current 8th Graders:

Yes… this time has come to start prepping our 8th Graders for High School…

Arapahoe High School Info:

Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! Arapahoe High School continues to be a leading school in the south Denver Metro area focused on our  excellence, tradition and innovation!  As your current 8th graders, the Class of 2029, start exploring their high school options we hope they will consider our storied institution to Become A Warrior!

AHS is excited to announce the dates for our popular Shadow Day program.  This is an incredible opportunity for current 8th grade students as Shadow Days provide a unique perspective for future warriors to experience the Arapahoe High School culture alongside current Warriors.   We continue to encourage parents/guardians to participate in the day with their children. While students are observing classes, parents will have the opportunity to ask questions of our principal, Mrs. Natalie Pramenko, and take a tour of our building.

Shadow days will take place on Oct 4, Oct 24, and Nov 12, with options for either a morning or an afternoon session. The capacity for each session is 60 students. Students will only be able to bring a maximum of 1 parent to the shadow day. Feel free to sign up for your shadow days here!

Additionally, our Freshman Showcase will be on October 30th from 6:00 - 8:00 pm.

Littleton High School Info:

Littleton High School, home of the Littleton Lions, is delighted to welcome eighth graders from Newton Middle School to visit LHS. Our visits are specially designed with both large- and small-group sessions for parents (with LHS administrators) and 8th grade shadows (with LHS students). There will be ample time to ask questions, get answers, experience our school culture, and tour the campus. Families arrive by 9:15 am and are dismissed by 11:30 am, allowing students to return to school and not miss an entire day. Our tour dates are October 1, October 15, October 29, November 12, and November 19. Sign up on our website here.

Heritage High School Info:

We want the chance to share our love of Heritage High School with your students.  We look forward to meeting you and sharing what we think makes Heritage such a special place to be!  Go Eagles!
