November 1st, 2024

We had a fun time at the Halloween Carnival and a great spirit week!!

Also, remember to TURN BACK THE CLOCKS THIS WEEKEND!  Please remember that now when you are picking your children up, it can be dark by 5:15, so please try your best to be on time!

Also, again, please remind your children the weather is changing and they need to plan to be outside every day for at least 5 minutes of recess as we clean up from the lunch prior.  The weather next week looks like it will be in the 30’s at least three of the days and we will be outside for recess unless it is actively raining or snowing.

Newton Prospective Parent Meeting is this Wednesday at 10am

I will be hosting my second of four Prospective Parent Meetings this Wednesday, Nov 6 at 10am.  If you know anyone in the South Metro area looking for a great option for their children for middle school, please send them our way!  Any grade is welcome to enroll!  More information here!

A Safety Concern (FYI)

It was brought to our attention that students that live in the areas North and West of Newton, that take the bus path home, in the afternoon, have been cutting off the buses and have almost been part of an accident, as well come close to causing accidents, multiple times.  The students are just darting out and not looking to see if a bus is coming!

We have requested that student’s stay on the SIDEWALK all the way down the bus lane to the crosswalk.  We have assigned multiple people to be in this area to monitor, but it is still happening.  We will be contacting parents of students that can not stay on the sidewalk and want to walk in the street where the buses are attempting to drive.  Again, this is out of an abundance of safety that we are letting you know of these expectations and attempting to keep everyone safe.

High School Visits for current 8th Graders:

Arapahoe High School Info:

Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! Arapahoe High School continues to be a leading school in the south Denver Metro area focused on our  excellence, tradition and innovation!  As your current 8th graders, the Class of 2029, start exploring their high school options we hope they will consider our storied institution to Become A Warrior!

AHS is excited to announce the dates for our popular Shadow Day program.  This is an incredible opportunity for current 8th grade students as Shadow Days provide a unique perspective for future warriors to experience the Arapahoe High School culture alongside current Warriors.   We continue to encourage parents/guardians to participate in the day with their children. While students are observing classes, parents will have the opportunity to ask questions of our principal, Mrs. Natalie Pramenko, and take a tour of our building.

Shadow days will take place on Nov 12, with options for either a morning or an afternoon session. The capacity for each session is 60 students. Students will only be able to bring a maximum of 1 parent to the shadow day. Feel free to sign up for your shadow days here!

Littleton High School Info:

Littleton High School, home of the Littleton Lions, is delighted to welcome eighth graders from Newton Middle School to visit LHS. Our visits are specially designed with both large- and small-group sessions for parents (with LHS administrators) and 8th grade shadows (with LHS students). There will be ample time to ask questions, get answers, experience our school culture, and tour the campus. Families arrive by 9:15 am and are dismissed by 11:30 am, allowing students to return to school and not miss an entire day. Our tour dates are November 12, and November 19. Sign up on our website here.

Heritage High School Info:

We want the chance to share our love of Heritage High School with your students.  We look forward to meeting you and sharing what we think makes Heritage such a special place to be!  Go Eagles!
