November 14th, 2013

Good Afternoon Parents and Guardians:

The deadline for applying to the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program at Littleton High School is Thursday, December 12, 2013. Students can find the application on the LHS website,  http://littleton.littletonpublicschools.net, by clicking IB and Prospective Students. The application requires recommendations from four current academic teachers, a complete middle school transcript including current grades, and the application hand written by the student.

Questions: Kaia Stulock, LHS IB Department, kstulock@lps.k12.co.us; 303-347-3740

We will be sponsoring our Skate City night on Monday, November 18th at 6:00 pm at Skate City, for further details please go to the front page of our website.

Just a reminder that we will be allowing the students to participate in i-pod Friday on November 22nd. I included specific information about this last week in the newsletter, you can also find additional information on the front of our website.

Students who would like to compete in this year's district chess tournament can pick up a registration form along with a rules and information sheet from the blue folder outside Mrs. Lacey's room, room 206.  Registration forms and fees are due by November 22.  No late or on-site registrations will be accepted.  This year's tournament will be held Saturday, December 7 here at Newton. See Mrs. Lacey with questions.

6th & 7th graders – if you are open enrolled to Newton from outside of the district, please have your parents submit an Intent to Renew form to the office for next year.

8th graders – if you plan on attending AHS, LHS or HHS and do not live in their attendance areas, you must submit open enrollment papers to them.

Next week is American Education Week!

I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Respectfully,

James O’Tremba
Principal, Newton Middle School
