Good Afternoon Parents and Guardians:

Seventh graders!  Time for Knight Notes auditions on Wednesday, April 9th after school.  Any 7th grade guy or girl may audition. This year's Knight Notes audition information is ready to download from Ms. Andrews’s website - go to the Knight Notes page.  See Ms. Andrews with questions! This is a very specialized concert choir, don’t miss your opportunity!

We will begin our registration process for this fall after we return from spring break. Please keep an eye out for these materials. I will provide more specific information as we move through this process.

I wanted to personally invite each of you to the Spirit Celebration on Saturday, April 12th at the Hyatt Regency Tech Center.  An electronic invite is attached. The ticket price for non LPS staff is $150.  Please consider gathering your co-workers, friends, family and parent community and join us for a fun filled, inspirational, and motivational evening!

This Spirit Celebration is the LPS Foundation's annual premier fundraising event.  Proceeds from this event go back to LPS schools in a variety of ways.   Since the beginning of this school year, the LPS Foundation has already given LPS schools the following:

·         Nearly $86,000 to fund STEM related projects

·         $46,000 to principals to use as unrestricted funds for instructional use

·         Over $30,000 to LPS teachers for classroom grants

·         $30,000 to fund Playworks in all elementary schools

·         $20,000 in designated grants to schools

·         More than $11,000 to support Health & Wellness programs

·         $11,000 in school grants and scholarships

The event consists of a dinnersilent and live auction (we have some great items this year that are fun and affordable!), paddle raiser (we are raising money for middle school STEM Centers - a very exciting new endeavor that will be announced that evening!), and the very famous, unique, and inspiring Innovation Avenue.  Innovation Avenue is a showcase of innovation being used in LPS classrooms across the district, from Kindergarten through 12th grade, and presented by students!  We will host close to 100 students and their teachers and they will be amazing!  We will also feature the performing and visual arts as well!

I hope everyone has a wonderful spring break and we will see the students when they return on March 31st. As always if you have any questions or concerns feel free to contact me.

Respectfully,
James O’Tremba
Principal
