Good Afternoon Parents and Guardians:
I have exciting news, Lisa Jenkins, who is our
instructional coach and seventh grade language arts teacher was recently
recognized by Newsela for her outstanding lesson planning for her classroom
instruction. Examples of her lessons are
posted on their website. Please click on the following link to read about Lisa
and her lesson planning!
I want to thank all of the students who participated in
our talent show. They did a great job and were very entertaining. Also a
special thanks to Ms. Andrews and Mrs. Osthoff who sponsored and coordinated the
event and to Mr. Wilmes and Ms. Thomas who kept us entertained throughout the
show with their Monte Python humor as Emcee’s!
We are moving forward with several of our projects at
Newton. We are in the bidding process for our electronic marquee and have two
corporate sponsors. The marquee should be installed and ready for use by
August. We are in the selection process for our new playground equipment that
will be installed over the summer and our seats for the mini-theater should
arrive in late April and be installed by the end of the school year.
It is amazing to me that we are heading into spring
break. I want to wish all of our students a safe and enjoyable spring break.
Have a great weekend.
Respectfully,
James O'Tremba
Principal, Newton Middle School
