Good Afternoon Parents and Guardians:
Next week will be a busy week. On Friday the 24th all
students will attend a Cyber Safety Workshop presented by Mike Harris from the
1st Judicial District Attorney's Office. Mike presents to our students every
third year in order for all of our students to hear his presentation at least
once during their middle school career. This will be presented during homeroom.
We will also distribute the eighth grade continuation
invitations to all eighth graders on Friday. There is no limit on the number of
guests you can bring to continuation. The continuation will be held on
Thursday, May 21st at 1:00 pm in our gym in conjunction with our eighth grade
recognition/awards ceremony.
Friday the 24th is also our deadline for our end of the
year permission slips for all three grade levels. The field trips will be held
on the 22nd of May. We need a permission slip returned to us whether or not
your student will be attending the field trip. If you choose for your student
to not participate in the field trip I also need you to call and excuse them
for that day.
Next week in my newsletter I will attach an end of the
year schedule for the events that will be occurring the last week of school.
Our seats for the mini theater have been confirmed to
arrive on Thursday and we will begin installation on Thursday afternoon. The
mini theater will be closed for approximately ten days during the installation
process.
We do not have school on Monday the 20th. We will resume
with classes on the 21st. Have a great weekend.
Respectfully,
James O'Tremba
Principal, Newton Middle School
