April 22nd, 2016

Good Afternoon Parents and Guardians:

The PE department is asking parents who have volunteered to donate gift cards for Run with the Knights to please bring those cards into the main office and have them placed in Mr. Blake's mailbox. Please remember to write down what the gift card is and who it is from so that we can keep track of them. Thank you to all of our parent volunteers for Run with the Knights.

For all eighth grade parents:  Please note the attached flyer regarding important information regarding eighth grade continuation dress code and parking information. Invitations will be distributed on May 6th. I sent an electronic version last week with my newsletter.

We are encouraging our students to participate in College Friday on April 29th. Students should wear college logos, shirts etc. in support of higher education in Colorado. Qdoba is offering free chips and 2 oz. queso to those sporting their college logo gear, LePeep restaurants are offering a free gooey bun. If you share your college Friday picture on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #CollegeFriday you will be entered to win one of three $1000.00 gift cards.

Arapahoe Credit Union is offering a free paper shredding benefiting Newton Middle School on Saturday, April 30th, 2016 at the credit union branch on the corner of Arapahoe and Colorado. Feel free to bring any documents for ON-SITE destruction. Bring old bank statements, check registers, receipts and anything else with personal information on it. Remember, newspapers and junk mail do not need to be shredded.

For detailed information please visit:  https://www.arapahoecu.org/creditunion/promo/shred.html

Have a great weekend. Enjoy the wonderful Colorado weather.

Respectfully,
James O'Tremba
Principal, Newton Middle School
