Good Afternoon Parents and Guardians:
We are off to a wonderful beginning of the New Year. Our staff is energized and ready to go and the students came into the building today with a ton of positive energy. We have hired several new staff members this year after having not hired any new staff members for the past three years. I would like to introduce you to the following new staff at Newton Middle School. Please welcome them to our Newton Family:
This year the No Place for Hate and Positive Behavior & Intervention Support team is dedicated to providing parents with information to help them better understand this developmentally tough time for students. The articles we send home will coordinate with the lessons being taught within the homeroom classes. We hope this information will help parents by providing insights and allow for topics of discussion. Our article for this first week is Self.
We also have a favor to ask. If you have come across a poignant article or book on the social emotional development of teens that you think other parents could benefit from, please forward it to Ms. Leslie Gardner. These articles may be posted on the No Place for Hate site attached to Newton Middle School’s web page, or even shared in our weekly newsletters.
Thank you for allowing us to support your children.
Leslie Gardner, Karin Svigel, Jesse Andrews, Amy Rahne, Makendra Silverman, Rob Atherton, and Megan Oaster
The NPFH and PBIS Support Team
