 Good Afternoon Parents/Guardians and Students:

STUDENTS:

We’ve been receiving several requests for elective schedule changes for the second semester. We cannot honor any schedule requests. We are packed full in our classes and don’t have any wiggle room to move students around.

We do however need some eighth grade students to fulfill some student assistant positions in the library and in our Connections Program to help out in our Center Based program. If you are interested in either of these areas please contact Mr. Wyckhuyse.

PTO INFORMATION:

Thank you Newton Community for spreading holiday cheer to the Newton Staff. Because of your generosity during the Holiday Cheer Champaign, every Newton staff member received a twenty-dollar Amazon gift card. There is even a few dollars left over that will go a long way during May's Teacher Appreciation Week. The PTO thanks you all and wishes everyone a happy and healthy holiday.

Thank you to the Newton community for helping fund the 2021 Newton PTO Teacher Grant Program. Through your generous donations the PTO was able to award $2649 in grants! Teachers will use these funds to purchase requested items which will enhance the students' learning experience.

We want to wish everyone a wonderful vacation and express our gratitude for the support we've received so far this school year through your generous financial donations, volunteer hours and attendance at our in-person meetings. We also want to thank the Newton teachers, staff and Mr. O'Tremba for making Newton a wonderful place for our students to learn! Our community thrives because of each and everyone of you. Happy holiday season!

Attention all current and future Arapahoe Warriors families!

Arapahoe HS is renovating the weight room to make a state-of-the-art facility for all current and future warriors! Our weight room is over 20 years old and needs to be updated with today’s equipment and technology to meet the needs of students going forward.  Through PE classes, clubs and athletics almost 100% of our students use this weight room at some time during their 4 years at Arapahoe so future Warriors are sure to benefit from this renovation.

We have a way for you to help and leave a lasting mark on our school!  Arapahoe is making commemorative bricks available for purchase, in order to benefit the school weight room renovation! These laser engraved bricks will be placed outside of the weight room and can hold any message you desire for future generations to see. Remembrance of a loved one, a special message, or even an acknowledgement of a donating family are just a few examples of bricks that have been sold.

Please consider purchasing a brick or making a direct donation toward the weight room renovation.

Best of wishes to all of our students and families in 2022, have a safe and wonderful Holiday Season.

James O’Tremba
