 Good Evening Parents/Students and Guardians:

We’ve had a great beginning to the school year and students seem to be settling in well. I have a few reminders regarding upcoming events.

Our school picture day will be Tuesday, August 23rd throughout the day for all students. Please have your student dress accordingly. You can access picture information and Lifetouch Studios through this link.

Back to school night will be held Thursday, August 25th at 6:00 pm. Please access this link for the schedule for the evening. We will begin with homeroom first and then you will follow your students schedule. Just a reminder this evening is for parents only and you will need either a paper or electronic copy of your students schedule.

Auditions for our annual school musical will begin on Monday, August 24th after school. Students, you will need to contact Ms. Newman if you are interested in auditioning or being involved in the musical.

School Dress Code:

Here is the link to our student handbook, it may be a good idea for parents to review with their students. Please pay particular attention to the school dress code located on pages seven and eight of the handbook. Individual grade level administrators will review with their grade level students.

This year, Newton will be selling yearbooks directly from our publisher, Herff-Jones.  So all yearbooks will be purchased directly from our publisher and will be delivered to students at school in May.  Yearbooks are $40, and there is a $3.99 processing fee, for a total book cost of $43.99.

LPS Information: 

We are excited to announce our 2nd annual Community Resource Fair for LPS families.  Last year we hosted our first comprehensive fair in September and connected over 200 individuals to community non-profit agencies.

This year the Community Resource Fair will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022 from 10 am - 1 pm on the East Elementary Campus.  We have over 25 local non-profit organizations planning to attend along with many internal departments.  Attendees can learn about organizations to help with food insecurity, mental and physical health resources, free haircuts and more! 

LPS Job Fair:

LPS will be hosting a job fair on Tuesday, August 23rd. Please see the attached flyer for additional information.
