September 23rd, 2022

 Dear Parents/Guardians and Students:

MASTER SCHEDULE CHANGE:

Beginning Monday we will change our master schedule back to conducting Knight Time/Homeroom at the end of the day. Here is a link to the updated schedule. This includes the regular M, T, TH, F schedule and the Wednesday late start schedule.

Classrooms Need Tissues:

We have had several parents send in tissues, THANK YOU…however we are still in need.

This year we missed putting a very important supply on the school supply list: Tissues. The average classroom uses 20-30 boxes per year. Most rooms have already run out as they used the very last of their supply from the previous year. This could be a long and germy winter without them! Would you be willing to send a box to school with your student? Your child can drop it off to their Homeroom teacher or to the Main Office and we will disperse from there. Thank you so much! We'll be sure to add this item back to the supply list next year so we can start classrooms off with what they will need.

PTO INFORMATION:

NEWTON ANNUAL PTO FUND DRIVE INFORMATION:

Every year the Newton Middle School PTO holds ONE primary fundraiser…the PTO Annual FundDrive, where 100% of donations are directly deposited into the PTO account. This means there are no fees withheld by third parties, no students serving as sales force on their neighborhood streets during a pandemic, etc. This year our goal is to raise $30,000. We are recommending a donation of $150 per family – less than a dollar-a-day that our students are in school. EVERY GIFT COUNTS!

For additional information and how you can contribute please check out this link.

Arapahoe High School Important Information:

Arapahoe High School is thrilled to announce our 2022 8th Grade Shadow Days for the Class of 2027! This is an incredible opportunity for current 8th grade students to visit our building and experience Arapahoe High School. In response to the overwhelming positive feedback we’ve had from previous events, this year we will once again be inviting parents/guardians to participate in the experience with their children. While students are experiencing class visits, parents will have the opportunity to ask questions of our principal, Mrs. Pramenko, and take a tour of our building.

Shadow days will take place on Sept 29, Oct 25, Nov 17 or Feb 3 with options for either a morning (8:00-10:30am) or afternoon (12:30-3:00pm) session. The capacity for each session is 50 students. Students will be able to bring a maximum of 1 parent/guardian to the event. The sign-ups will be posted soon on the Incoming Freshmen Page and on the AHS Website.

Thanks and have a great weekend.

James O’Tremba

Principal, Newton Middle School
