October 19th, 2022

 Good Evening Parents/Guardians and Students:

Halloween:

This year for Halloween students will be able to dress in costume for the day. Our Newton dress code needs to be followed. Students can wear makeup, however no masks covering their faces are allowed, we need to be able to identify all students.

Students are also not allowed to bring any weapon facsimiles. If you have any questions regarding a costume please feel free to contact any administrator.

Please note we are not hosting a Halloween Dance.

PTO INFORMATION:

Book Fair:

The Scholastic Fall Book Fair will be at Newton Middle School, Monday, October 31st thru Friday, November 4th.  All are welcome!  We will have some great books for sale.  Please come to our book fair and grab all your books for this fall! Proceeds from the fair help to buy books for our library!!

The online fair will begin on 10/31/22 and go thru 11/13/22.

Take advantage of the new cashless and convenient eWallet payment system by visiting our online store at http://www.scholastic.com/bf/newtonmiddlecentennial.

Finally a big thank you to all of the volunteers who have signed up to help, especially our coordinator, Eva Seal, for working with Ms. Lawler to bring back this fun event.

Teacher Appreciation:

Another round of gratitude goes to the many volunteers who got busy making soup and salad for the conference day teacher potluck. We are so grateful to all who stepped up, especially our wonderful coordinators, Tracy Duhig and Betsy Brouillette. Thanks for making our teachers feel appreciated!

The PTO Annual Fund:

It's not too late to help Newton PTO support our teachers and school by contributing to the PTO Annual FundDrive. Donations this year help support funding for the additional full time school psychologist, teacher appreciation, Reading Counts, CODE cart awards, teacher grants and out-of-pocket reimbursements and more.

From your phone, just go into your Infinite Campus app (where you check your student's grades) click on the three bars in the left corner > Fees > Optional Payments > Add to cart. It defaults to $150, but you can change it on the payment page. Just click the amount box next to the red x and type in whatever amount you decide. Then Submit Payment and you're done. It's that easy! EVERY GIFT COUNTS!

Check the Newton website for monthly updates on reaching our goal. Thank you!

For additional information and how you can contribute please check out this link.
