November 11th, 2022

 Good Evening Parents/Guardians and Students:

Lost and Found:

Our lost and found will be cleaned out on Wednesday in order for us to prepare for our musical presentation. Please encourage your students to rummage through the lost and found if they are missing anything. We have a plethora of clothing, water bottles and lunch sacks.

All School Musical:

Our all school musical: Willy Wonka Jr will be presented the evening of November 16 and 17th. All parents and students are invited. Just a reminder to students if you attend you will need to be accompanied by your parent/guardian. The evening presentations will be held on our learning stair from 6-8:00 pm. Admission to the event is free as we want all of our community to be present and enjoy.  If you have any questions please contact Ms. Carly Newman.

PTO News:

Thank you all for participating in the PTO Knight Fundraising Drive! Because of your generosity we are getting so close to our goal. Currently 104 families have donated a total of $15,150. Because of your donations, we're able to give back to the Newton community in a variety of ways. Our biggest contribution this year is supporting the salary of one of our full time school psychologists. Without these funds, Newton wouldn't have the robust mental health team that we do. Way to take care of our kids! Your dollars and volunteer hours also support various staff appreciation events to honor the incredible people that keep our school awesome. Be on the look out for communication with more ways you can support our staff during the Holiday Cheer Campaign. For directions on how to give to the Fundraising Drive, please check out the Newton webpage and click on the NMS PTO Fund Drive icon.

Please come to our next PTO meeting to learn more about how your donations are used. It's next Thursday from 9:30-11:00am, virtually or in person. If you'd like a link to join virtually, and haven't already requested one, please email Tiffany at NewtonPTOPres@gmail.com.

As we enter this season of gratitude, we also want to share a big thank you to all who've been donating their time to bring exciting events to our community! Eva Seal and our other incredible parent volunteers worked with Ms. Lawler to make the Book Fair a big success. This event is always a great way to rekindle a love of reading with new and thrilling books. Leslie Suh worked with the LPS Foundation to organize Newton's participation in this year's Stride, a healthy and fun way to support the LPS District as a whole. Alli Clinton has reached out to our greater community to coordinate our delicious Restaurant Knights and keep us informed with our Facebook posts. Tracy Duhig and Betsy Brouillette organize our Staff Appreciation events, expressing our profound gratitude for all they do to help our children learn. And a big thank you to everyone else with a role on the Newton PTO who keep all the parts moving behind the scenes. To see who they are, go to the Newton webpage, click on NMS PTO and scroll to the bottom to find the roster. Next time you see one of them, say "Thank you for all you do!"

Have a great weekend. One week to go before Thanksgiving break!
