Hello Parents and Guardians:

Welcome back from your summer vacation….at least your student’s summer vacation. We are ready to begin the school year here at Newton Middle School. For our parents who are new to Newton, I send out an informational message weekly on Friday afternoons. This will be the first message of the 2014 school year.

Some important reminders include:

• Schedule pickup day is Thursday, August 14th. Additional information can be found on our website under the parent tab under the 2014-15 registration information. If you did not pre-pay fees you will need to pay your fees by cash or check on schedule pick up day.
• The first day of school is Friday, August 15th: 

All sixth graders need to report to Newton by 7:54 am and report to their homeroom teacher.
All seventh and eighth grade students will report to school at 9:54 and we will run a late start schedule with them, those students will report to their 1st period class.
Buses will run normal schedule for sixth grade and late start schedule for seventh and eighth grade.

• VERY IMPORTANT: we have 320 families who have not updated their family portal account. This must be done before the first day of school on the 15th. Please log into your portal account, go to your In Box and click on the 14-15 family annual check in and update your information. You need to complete this even if your family information has not changed! If you have questions or do not have a portal account please contact our main office.

We had an excellent school year last year with some of the best test scores we’ve ever had and are looking forward to another great year this year.
