Good Afternoon Parents/Guardians:

We've had a great first semester here at Newton and are looking forward to second semester. Thanks for all of your support throughout the fall.

I want to remind parents that our final grades for students are due on Monday, January 5th and will not be posted in IC until then. Our second semester for students will begin on Tuesday, January 6th. Our main office will be closed over winter break and will open on January 5th at 8:00 am.

I know that if your child had Ms. Hemmie this semester you know that she will be leaving us and taking a position at the Denver Academy. We were truly blessed to have Ms. Hemmie here for the semester and wish her well in her new position. We will have a new teacher in place when we return from break and Mrs. Alles is planning on returning to work in early February.

Mr. Cohen has also resigned his position as our STEM/6th grade science teacher. We want to wish him well as he has had some health issues the past few years and needs to take some time to get healthy. We have hired a new person, Mr. Mark Crane to fulfill the responsibilities of the position for second semester so please welcome Mr. Crane to Newton Middle School.

As we enter our second semester we will conduct our honor roll/recognition ceremony in January. Specific information regarding times and dates will be posted on our website and I will share that information in my first message when we return next year.

I want to wish all of you a great and safe holiday season and a happy New Year. The best to all of you for 2015.
