Good Afternoon Parents and Guardians:

A Call-to-Action: have YOU made your donation to the Newton Discovery Fund Drive?  Every dollar helps and we all know how much the gym and cafeteria need those equipment upgrades!  Please see details and donate what you can on Newton’s website or in the school office.

We wish to thank the 108 households that have made donations to date.  We are really counting on 100% participation.  A friendly contest between homerooms will track donations made July 1-Oct. 31. The class in each grade with the most participation will win an awesome prize.

Please Save the Date for our first Newton Community Knight: Bad Daddy’s Burger Bar in SouthGlenn on Tues. Oct. 4 from 5-9pm (the eve of the Late Start) - 20% to Newton!

Attention Chromebook Users (That's ALL of you!)- Starting on Monday we will be keeping track of each time you need to borrow a Chromebook from the library because you forgot yours at home or forgot to charge it.  You will have a lunch detention after you have had to borrow three times (so your fourth, fifth and sixth time).  After six times, you will receive after school detention each time you forget.  This does NOT include if your Chromebook is in for repairs.

Our CMAS testing results from this spring for individual students have arrived. We distributed those results to students today in homeroom and your son our daughter should arrive home with their results this afternoon. If you have any questions regarding the results please feel free to contact me or any other administrator.

"Attention 8th Grade Parents:  Open enrollment forms for High School will be available Friday, September 30th IN THE EVENING on the district website.  We will be accepting written or e-mail requests (please do not call) for open enrollment paperwork starting Monday, October 3rd.  You may pick up the paperwork after 2 p.m. or have your student get it from the office after school.  Please include your student's full name and which high school they're open enrolling to in your request. To request the necessary paperwork, please e-mail Stacey Cruz at scruz@lps.k12.co.us.  Thank you!"
