Good Afternoon Parents and Guardians:

All parents are encouraged to participate in our school climate survey!

This is an opportunity to share your thoughts about important topics such as school safety, relationships, social-emotional support, diversity, etc.

The will take about 15 minutes to complete and is available in English and Spanish.

For more information about the Comprehensive School Climate Inventory, visit www.schoolclimate.org.

The Newton survey link will be sent out in a separate email on Monday, October 3rd to all parents- be on the look out!

This is it!  Just 4 weeks to go for the Newton Discovery Fund Drive.  Thank you to the 117 households that have contributed to date.  Participation is currently 19%.  We are really hoping for 100%.

So now, let the Newton Discovery Fund Drive games begin!  We are pleased to announce a Homeroom Participation Contest.  All you have to do is take part!  All donations made since July 1 count and we will tally donation participation in the Fund Drive each week throughout October.  We all want to see vast improvements to the AV equipment in the Gym and the Cafeteria and we still need to support all the fantastic enrichment programs at our great school.  Every single donation helps.  Ask your student for the flyer they are bringing home today.  Please consider donating on-line through the NMS Discovery Fund Drive link on Newton's website or by cash/check (payable to Newton PTO) in the School Office.

We look forward to seeing everyone next week at our first Newton Community KNight at Bad Daddy’s Burger Bar in SouthGlenn on Tues. Oct. 4 from 5-9 p.m., the eve of the Late Start. Parents may enter a drawing for one lucky student to win an Amazon Fire tablet, generously donated by Bad Daddy’s to further promote participation in our Fund Drive!

Good luck to all the Homerooms!  We look forward to sharing the first set of results with you on Friday, October 7.
Thank you!

As always have a great weekend!

Respectfully,
James O’Tremba
Principal, Newton Middle School
