Sixth grade students do not need to complete any course registration If you have any questions regarding our courses please access our course description book here. All students will be automatically scheduled into an elective wheel of eight electives. The only choice sixth graders need to make is if they are interested in taking band or orchestra. Please view the two videos provided by Mrs. Bransgrove, our instrumental music teacher in order to make this decision. If you decide to have your sixth grader take band/orchestra please complete the music intent form provided here. If you have any questions regarding band or orchestra please direct them to Mrs. Bransgrove.
If students choose band or orchestra they will be limited to the following electives: Health, PE, Everyday Living and Computers.
I understand this is an overwhelming amount of information to absorb. You have plenty of time to process. The three most important items for your consideration for your sixth grader at this time is to decide to test for advanced math, choose band or orchestra and to attend the April 1st virtual parent orientation.
Please continually access the Newton Website for any changes or additional information.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact Mrs. Huck or Mr. O’Tremba
We are looking forward to the arrival of your students this fall. Have an enjoyable, safe spring break.
Respectfully,
James O’Tremba
Principal, Newton Middle School
